A good vase should last a long time. A little regular care is all it takes.
Ceramic
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry it. Avoid abrasive pads, which can dull the glaze. If you use fresh flowers, check that the inside is glazed before adding water, and empty it when you are finished.
Glass
Rinse with warm water and a drop of mild soap. A small amount of baking soda on a soft brush lifts water marks. Avoid sudden temperature changes, which can crack glass.
Dried stems
Dried stems need no water. Keep them out of direct sun and damp rooms so they hold their colour and shape.
